Biography

The pure line and solidity of marble and alabaster. Borja demonstrates in each of his works the mastery and perfection he pursues. His stable imbalances produce the kind of tranquility that only noble materials can transmit when they are treated with curiosity and affection.

Through an abstract language, Borja tries to understand the space and the limits of the material that supports it. He creates a dialogue through contact with the stone, seeking to reveal its unique aesthetics, its true form. Each sculpture is testimony to his relentless search for beauty in a complex and contradictory world, challenging preconceived perceptions of order and structure. Pursuing the sensory experience through the object and its light, he invites us to reflect on the order of its elements, the importance of the emptiness that is part of them and the reason for their existence.

Among his many awards and distinctions, it is worth mentioning the International Urban Sculpture Competition of the City of Pamplona in 2023, inaugurating the sculptural ensemble “1423”, a public work in the Plaza del Castillo in the capital of Navarre.
