Biography

Paula Segarra is an interdisciplinary artist born in Valencia in 1986. Graduated in Fine Arts at the Faculty of San Carlos de Valencia (2010). And, Graduated in Contemporary Dance at the Professional Dance Conservatory of Valencia (2009).

Her artistic work focuses on painting and drawing, but her great versatility has led her to experiment with photography, video and stage direction.

Regardless of the medium used, the artistic praxis of the young artist focuses on delving into human nature. Without fear of diving into deep waters, he reflects on the existential issues of the human condition: spirituality, sexuality and ultimately the relationship of human beings with themselves and nature. Animals occupy a major place in the inspiration he finds in general in the inimitable nature.

Since completing her studies, she has combined what she considers a “food job” as a painter, managing her own company of decorative paints and working for large firms of high decoration, with the dissemination of her more personal, committed and transgressive artistic work.

As an independent artist I have had group and solo exhibitions in Spain, France and the United Kingdom. He has participated in art fairs such as Estampa Madrid, Art Fair Málaga, and worked with galleries such as L’Artería and Pizarro.

His works have been sold to individuals around the world; in the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Singapore and Europe.

Paula has been awarded in different contests such as the Desideri Lombarte Painting Contest and the DESPIERTAS Painting Contest; she has also been finalist in a long list of painting contests.

Institutions such as the Diputación de Cuenca have acquired his work and his work has been published in art magazines such as Vagina Dentada and Flamantes libro de artistas.
